Kenwood Cottage (mid-Wales) is the perfect rural retreat for those who want some clean air and a restful countryside break away from it all. One of a pair of pretty white washed cottages set beside a single track lane on a steep wooded hillside, Kenwood is a charming traditional Welsh cottage enjoying a superbly tranquil setting. This delightful cottage has a 2 star grading by the Tourist Board under their new system. However, it actually merits a 3 star rating but the Wales Tourist Board are unable to award it because bed linen is not provided. The immediate vicinity offers picturesque walks and scenic drives with the many Cardigan Bay coastal resorts easily accessible including Borth and the University seaside town of Aberystwyth.

Kenwood is an ideal base for those who enjoy walking, fishing or bird watching (this is Red Kite Country). The RSPB reserve at Ynis-hir on the Dyfi estuary has a wide range of habitats from estuary to woodland. Just 3 miles further inland from Goginan is the Nant Yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre which hosts a Red Kite feeding station and has way marked walks, picnic areas and stunning views down the valley to Cardigan Bay. Llywernog Silver Mine Museum is also nearby. The famous Devil's Bridge with its spectacular waterfalls is 8 miles away and the Rheidol narrow gauge steam railway runs from there to Aberystwyth through 12 miles of breathtaking scenery.

The Cottage is self catering with car parking available opposite Kenwood. It is heated by electric fires throughout. Blankets are provided so guests need only bring their own bed linen (sheets and pillowcases), towels and tea towels. A well behaved pet is allowed by arrangement (£10 extra). Bookings are from 14.00 on Saturday to 10.00 on the final Saturday. The cottage is available from the beginning of May to end of September and is a non-smoking establishment.
